1060 A pair of Regency Diamond-cut Decanters

This fine pair of Georgian decanters are decorated with a very broad band of diamond cutting below step-cut necks. They have star-cut mushroom stoppers.

In the early 19th century, the newly invented steam-driven cutting machines allowed a new approach to glass cutting, and large areas of diamond-cutting - that is areas of glass decorated with numerous mini-pyramids - became very popular for top-end glasswares.  These decanters epitomise the trend and the step-cutting offsets the diamond cutting superbly.

The decanters each hold a full bottle comfortably and are in excellent bright condition.
