4051 An Unusual Small Shaft & Globe Carafe
This is an unusual carafe. It is of squat shaft & globe form and it has a single ring of squared section below the rim.
The crafe will just hold a full 75 cl. bottle, and is in good condition. There is not really much that can be said about it - except that it is a very difficult item to date with any degree of certainty!
Since writing the above, we have found a claret jug (5028) which seems to match it. There can be little doubt that they were made in the same glass-house.
