5027 A Rare Pair of Georgian Ship's Decanters

Click on the images to see more detail

This is an unusual pair of ship's decanters, but none the less satisfactory for being a rare model.  They have four neck rings above broad onion-shaped bodies cut from the base to the lower neck rings with panel or slice cutting.  The bases are star cut.  The stoppers are replacements.

Ships decanters are hard to find as singletons, but pairs for sale are distinctly uncommon.  These are a handsome model and are bright and clear without any significant chips and are without any cracks.  Indeed they are in excellent overall condition.

They are very fit for purpose and are elegant with it.

Date: c.1825

Dimensions: 10.3", 26.2 cm high incl. stoppers
