5155 A Pair of Fine Victorian Shaft & Globe Decanters

Click on the images to see more detail

This is a very fine pair of Victorian 'shaft-and-globe' decanters, decorated with bold cutting.  Each body is cut with a broad band of large-scale flat-topped diamonds below a band of long oval 'olives' and the panel-cut neck.  The base is boldly star-cut, the points of the star leading to lancet panels.  The numbered stoppers are cut in sympathy with the bodies.

This pair of decanters are in excellent condition with no signs of damage or restoration; they are also very 'bright'.

Date: c.1880

Dimensions: 13", 33 cm. high, including the stoppers
