5218 A Fine Green 'Prussian' Decanter

Click on the images to see more detail

This is a really good dark green/teal coloured decanter of 'prussian' form - that is it has an almost barrel-shaped body with three neck rings.  The neck rings are 'bladed' and the inverted pear-shaped stopper has a bevelled edge.

The decanter is in excellent unrestored condition without any chips (except one tiny nibble on the edge of the stopper) or cracks.  it would be excellent for serving white wines or spirits and holds a full bottle (75 cl.) with ease.

Date: c.1800

Dimensions: 10.7", 27.2 cm. high incl. stopper
