5233 Good Half-Bottle Taper Decanter

Click on the images to see more detail

This is simply a good taper decanter of the late 18th century - in half-bottle size.  The neck is cut with panel or slice-cutting and there is a band of fluting around the base.   It is fitted with an inverted pear-shaped stopper with a bevelled edge - probably the original one.

At this price it is certainly to be recommended.  There are no cracks or chips and the decanter is clear of any cloudiness.

Date: c.1790

Dimensions: 9.7", 24.6 cm high incl. stopper
