Click on the images to see more detail

This is an unusual and heavy decanting cradle made in brass and bronze (apparently). The structure is supported on four heavily cast brass or bronze columns in the art nouveau style and which have been patinated as can be seen.  The cradle which holds the bottle is of circular section and shaped to hold a Burgundy or Bordeaux botle and the punt (the base indentation) is held with a knob which can be screwed to secure the bottle.

The cradle is mounted on a wood (mahogany(?) base and the mechanism is funtional.
