5255 A Fine Pair of Wheel-Engraved Shaft and Globe Decanters

Click on the images to see more detail

This is a particularly fine pair of Shaft-and globe decanters. The bodies are engraved in fine detail with stylised swags of foliage and berries, while the necks are facet-cut with hollow hexagons. The ball stoppers are facet-cut and the decanters rest on star-cut low feet. This is an exceptionally pretty pair of decanters and are thoroughly fit for purpose being in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or cloudiness.

Unusually, neither the decanters , nor the stoppers are numbered, but they fit one another perfectly and are almost certainly original.

Please note that in order to show the fine engraving, we have had to 'enhance' the third image to be darker and more contrasted. In reality, the engraving and the decanters are much paler and the engraving is only marginally darker than the plain glass.
