5263 A Fine Green Prussian Decanter

Click on the images to see more detail

This is a really good dark, very dark, emerald-green coloured decanter of 'prussian' form - that is it has an almost barrel-shaped body with three neck rings and a stopper of inverted pear shape with a scalloped edge.  The body is well formed with quite pronounced striations where the glass-maker has shaped its outline.

The decanter is in excellent unrestored condition without any chips or cracks. it would be excellent for serving white wines or spirits and holds a full bottle (75 cl.) with ease.

Date: c.1800

Dimensions: 10.7", 27.2 cm. high incl. stopper
