6003 A Georgian Indian Club Decanter

Click on the images to see more detail

This is a simple late 18th century decanter of a shape known as an 'Indian Club'.  It is very elegant and totally fit for purpose as it holds a full bottle and pours well.

The scalloped disc stopper is contemporary and may be original, but we think it is probably not.  The glass is clear, without any cloudiness and the only scratches are few and can only be seen on close inspection.  There are no cracks or chips.
