6009 A Marie-Jeanne (3-Bottle-size) Decanter

Click on the images to see more detail

This is a good large decanter holding three bottles with ease.  It was almost certainly made for cider and is of Normandy origin.  It has a single low neck ring and a plain mushroom-shaped stopper, but is devoid of decoration.

The decanter is clear, with no cloudiness and there are no discernable chips or creacks. It is fit to go and for purpose.

6009 is the middle decanter in the second image.  This is to compare it with 5267 (an 8-bottle decanter, and a standard single bottle size.

Date: c.1840

Dimensions: 13", 33. cm. high incl. stopper
