6038 An Early 20th Century Bottle Slope/ Cradle

Click on the images to see more detail

18th centiury mahogany bottle cradles are hard to find, although occasionally I do fine one.  This however is a good copy - properly dovetailed  and it will take a bottle to be held at an angle suitable fro drawing the cork and for the sediment to accumulate in one small area if the bottle is left in the cradle for a day or two.

The front of the cradle has a silver-coloured rounded with the initial 'P', below a notch to take the neck of the bottle.  The underside is lined in green baize.

Date: c.1920
