6054 A Fine & Rare 3-Bottle Shaft & Globe Decanter

Click on the images to see more detail

It is very rare to find decanters larger than magnium size, but this is a very fine quality exception - it holds three bottles.

It has a shaft & globe body, well decorated with three bands of cutting. The central band is hobnail-cut between bands of fine prisms, separated by step-cutting. The base is star-cut, while the panel-cut neck is 'notched'.

The (replacement) stopper is similarly cut, but aside from scientific analysis, it would be almost impossible to know that it was not original. It matches the body perfectly, both in style and quality.

This decanter would enhance almost any table setting with its superb quality and size; it has 'presence'. It is not a monster - but is simply impressive.
