6519 A Plain Prussian Decanter with Target Stopper

Click on the images to see more detail

This is a very simple, plain Georgian decanter of a type known as a 'Prussian'. That is not to say it is not English; it is, but the shape is known that way.

Holding a full bottle with ease, it is the quintessentail English decanter of the opening years of the 19th century. It has three neck rings, which allow a good grip for pouring.

There is no decoration, nor is it needed, the form being the attraction.  It is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips and is bright and ready to use.  It is very fit for purpose!

Date: c.1810
