6523 Very Rare Leather Bottle Boot

Click on the images to see more detail

This rare object is to aid the extraction of a cork from a bottle.  It is made of heavy duty leather, beautifully stitched to form and it has an iron ring around the base from which two lugs emerge.   It is open at both ends.

The idea is to place the bottle inside the 'boot' and stand on the lugs. This enable a corkscrew to do its work much more easily than tby trying to hold the bottle between the legs!
