9567 A scarlet lacquered coaster with gilt decoration
This coaster ios early 19th century, and is lacquered in a wooden base. the outside of the body is decorated with gilded foliage, the gilded being in two colours and shaded. The rim of the coaster is also gilded with a narrow band of foliage.
While the coaster is in generally good condition, the inside of the base has degraded a little - but not sufficiently to weaken the structure or be unsightly.
