9875 A Plain Silver Escutcheon Wine Label for SHERRY

This shape of wine label is known by collectors as an escutcheon. It was among the first shapes made when wine labels began to be made in the 1730s, and regained its fashionable form nearly 100 years later. This one was made in 1822 by John Reily in London.

The marks are good and clear and it has no damage or repair.
