9879 An Oblong SIlver Wine Label for CLARET
This is a good practical wine label. The overall shape is an oblong, and it has a boldly gadrooned edge, the plain centre being engraved CLARET. It is suspended from a belcher chain.
The hallmarks for London in 1825 are very clearly struck as is the maker's mark of Charles Rawlings who was a specialist wine label maker. There is no damage or repair and the label is in excellent condition
