9898 A Collection of Bin Numbers
Bin Numbers were used in large cellars and commercially where there were a regular turnover of bin contents. Each wine was entered in a stock book and assigned a number which corresponded with the bin number. Indeed old-established wine merchats still use this system on occasion.
This is clearly part of a large set - probably for 6 dozen bins.
