9903 A Brown Overlay Decanter & Stopper

This is a tall tapered decanter flashed with a very unusual shade of pale brown. It has a panel-cut neck and base, and the central band is finely engraved with fruiting vine. It has a hexagonal stopper.

This decanter is an English example - its solid weight betrays is being made of lead glass, and the quality of the engraving is typically that of English productions - finely drawn and executed.
