This is a simple, plain Georgian silver goblet - just right for a 'glass' of red wine. The bowl is ovoid (egg-shaped) and it stands on a trumpet foot. There are a pair of horizontal grooves where the bowl meets the foot which is edged with a beaded moulding.
The underside bears the clear hallmarks for London 1806 and the maker's mark of Robert Garrard I who gave his name to the firm that still survives.
