This is a tumbler of exceptional rarity and charm. While it is a typical tumbler of the early 19th century in most aspects, in that it is of tapered outline and with a broad band of panel cutting around the lower sectionand with a star-cut base, it also has a pair of initials MW flanked by a pair of fronds to form a cartouche.
The unusual, if not very rare feature is, however, that the lower section below the engraving is flashed in yellow to give the appearance of the tumbler being half-full of whisky (?) and it is quite realistic.
It is English , c. 1825 and is 3.5", 9 cm. tall.
