This very unusual carafe dates from the middle years of the 18th century and is of shaft and globe form. The unusual feature is the wide neck, but it is all 'hot'finished' and original.
The carafe easily holds a magnum, is bright and clear, without restoration and has no cracks or chips. The base has a distinct kick, (or a vintners prefer to call it - a punt). It has a rough pontil mark.
