This is a simple pair of Georgian carafes (decanters that never had stoppers) from the early 19th century. Each carafe has three neck rings to aid grip in use and each is decorated with two matted narrow bands either side of bands of small ovals. Between the bands of matting and above them are rows of stars.
Each carafe will hold a full bottle with ease and with their broad necks, they pour very well.
8.7", 22.2 cm. high. Circa 1815
