3019 A fine Georgian conical ship's decanter

Code: 3019

£1,250.00

This is a fine ship's decanter of conical outline.  The thickly-blown glass of excellent colour and weight is cut with narrow slices to the neck and shoulders, and incorporates four neck rings.  There is no other decoration.  It is fitted with a circular bull's eye, or target stopper.

A decanter like this will easily hold a bottle of wine and have plenty of surface area for the wine to 'breathe'.  This particular decanter will also pour easily and it is easy to take a grip on it.

Date: c.1800

Dimensions: 10.7", 27.1 cm. incl. stopper
